Catch a glimpse of this famous tourist attraction of Costa Rica that is just a few mins drive from the town center of La Fortuna.
La Fortuna Waterfall offers beautiful high elevation views of the tropical rainforest and the natural beauty it harbors. If you are an explorer, there is no need to shell the extra bucks by booking a fancy tour to explore this place. Just take an Uber or a local cab that should cost about 5 bucks and head straight to the entrance of the La Fortuna Waterfall. The entrance ticket is about 18 bucks per person for a day pass to explore the Waterfall, Orchid Trail and the Butterfly Trail. To get to the waterfall it’s a 500 step steep walk down the hill and there are several resting stops along the way. Once you get to the waterfall you can take a swim or just chill with your feet soaking in the crystal clear water. Remember to carry your water shoes as the rocks are extremely slippery and sharp in places. This waterfall is close to a 250 feet drop at the base of the dormant Chato Volcano. You can spend as much time as you want taking pictures and swimming but don’t exhaust all you energy; remember there are 500 steep stairs that you need to walk back up.
