Pura Vida at the Rich Coast

Pura Vida meaning pure life resonates very well with Costa Rica’s approach to life. The country embraces preservation of its rugged rainforests surrounded by the Caribbean and Pacific coastlines.

It’s amazing to see how, despite the challenges of poverty, this country has risen well above its neighbors, preserving it’s natural beauty and standing out as a famous and welcoming tourist destination. There is something for everyone to do here; if you like city life, then enjoy the hustle and bustle of San Jose; if you love nature, then escape to La Fortuna, Manuel Antonio, River Tarcoles and many other such destinations all around the country.

Driving around the country is a good option. They follow the US driving rules so getting familiar is easy. However, do drive safely as the roads can be very winding with sharp blind turns.

Costa Rican people are extremely friendly; Spanish is the spoken language but you can get by with English at most places or just rely on your hand signaling capabilities. The main food staples are rice, beans, veggies and meat; be sure to try their Typical meal which you can find at most sodas throughout this Rich Coast.
